Surrounded by the head of the «Zionist camp» AVI GABA did not comment on the forthcoming statement of Donald trump.
In turn, the Deputy of the Knesset from MERETZ, Tamar Zandberg said: «Those who want to see Jerusalem as not only the U.S. Embassy, but the embassies of other countries should seek to achieve a political settlement that will finally give Israel recognition in permanent and secure borders».
The head of the party «Yesh Atid» Yair Lapid said, speaking at a conference of the newspaper the Jerusalem Post: «Political decisions cannot depend on threats and fears. If the only argument against the transfer of the American Embassy in Jerusalem – the possibility of an escalation and intensification of the terror, it proves once again that the decision is correct».
Lapid urged the international community to recognize the full sovereignty of Israel on the Golan heights and stressed that Iran’s presence in Syria, just a few kilometers from Israel, is a direct threat to the existence of our state.
Previously, the newspaper «Haaretz» reported that 25 former diplomats, ambassadors and employees of the Israeli foreign Ministry has sent a letter to the special representative of the United States in the region Jason Greenblatt to desist from the intention to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. «This will increase the level of inequality between the conflicting parties, each of which has a right in Jerusalem,» the letter reads.
