Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the leadership of the Israeli foreign Ministry held a series of telephone conversations with representatives of the governments of Greece and Cyprus.
This step was taken against the background of publications about the new rapprochement between Israel and Turkey, which appeared in Israeli and Turkish media last week.
In particular, Netanyahu personally telephoned the President of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades, assuring him that even if the agreement with Turkey is reached, it will not go to the detriment of Israeli-Cypriot relations, reports Haaretz.
Speaking at a meeting of the faction «Likud» party in the Knesset, Netanyahu stressed that at the moment no agreements with Turkey not.
According to him, between Jerusalem and Ankara maintain regular contacts, however, progress on key issues, including requiring Israel to limit Hamas activities in Turkey and the Turkish demand to lift the blockade of Gaza, is not observed.
