Sunday, July 2, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had blocked an attempt to put forward for consideration the bill about «United Jerusalem.» According to the text of the bill, any decision about the division of Jerusalem can only be taken by a majority of 80 deputies.
Netanyahu initially objected to this legislative initiative, veto, assigned to him within the framework of the coalition agreement, to achieve removal of a question from discussion.
Surrounded by the head of the «Bayt Yehudi» Naftali Bennett declared: «the Unity of Jerusalem must be confirmed by deeds, not words. In the coming days we will continue efforts to obtain approval of the bill».
