The labour party of the Australian state of New South Wales voted for the recognition of a non-existent Palestinian state. This vote was initiated by the former Australian foreign Minister Bob Carr.
This resolution, more soft than the original project dedicated to the conference in Sydney, writes on Monday, July 31, the Jewish news Agency JTA.
The leader of the labour party bill shorten was subjected to pressure and confirmed its position on this issue: it calls on the Federal government to recognize Palestine as an independent state. In an interview with the RN Breakfast program, running on ABC, shorten argued that the move meets the interests of both parties to the conflict.
Earlier, a similar resolution was adopted by the States of Western and South Australia.
