U.S. President Barack Obama called Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and demanded to withdraw troops from Iraq, and also to respect in future the sovereignty of the country, reported the press service of the White house.
The American leader demanded that the leadership of Turkey to take urgent measures to «reduce tensions» in Iraq.
This conversation was preceded by two calls of the Vice-President of the United States Joe Biden, Prime Minister of Turkey Ahmet Davutoglu.
Ankara has refused to comply with this requirement and to fully withdraw troops from bases near Mosul. The recent attack militants «Islamic state» on this object has become an excuse for further stay of the Turkish military on Iraqi territory.
However, Turkey agreed to «reorganize» contingent, formally arrived to assist in the preparation of fighters of the Kurdish militia and Iraqi government forces.
