In the period from 2000 to 2013 4.809 Israelis have committed suicide, a third of them were new immigrants. These data were published by the Centre for research and information of the Knesset at the meeting of the parliamentary Committee on Aliya and absorption. Zach Ben-Yehuda, a specialist of the research Center of the Knesset, noted that in the framework of the reform, the responsibility for psychiatric care was transferred from state to health insurance funds, but has not changed the criteria and rules for its provision. According to the Center, in 2010 immigrants accounted 8,81% of all persons admitted hospitalization, in 2014 they amounted to 5,12%, which speaks about the problems of the aid system.
