The canadian Parliament approved a bill under which the country will annually mark a new holiday – Month of Jewish heritage. This bill was approved by the deputies of the house of Commons and the Senate. Tribute to Jewish culture and history, Canadians will be given in may.
It is expected that this month, a project initiated by Michael Levitt from the lower house and Linda Frum from the top, to be approved by Queen Elizabeth II, head of the British Commonwealth of Nations, and will have the status of law, writes the newspaper The Jerusalem Post.

This bill was initiated in the year 2015, the Jewish legislator Irwin Kotler, who has already retired.
The month of the Jewish heritage of Canada based on the model law adopted in Ontario in 2012, and the respective resolution of the Congress of the United States.
