Parliamentary elections in Spain: a two-party system comes to an end

This Sunday in Spain parliamentary elections, in which citizens will choose 350 members of the Congress of deputies (lower house), and 208 of the senators (upper house).

Write about the 20th of December the Spanish media and, in particular, the newspaper La Sexta.

Recall that in Spain there are now 46 million people, including the right to vote 36.5 million citizens of the Kingdom, as well as 1.8 million citizens living abroad.

In these elections for the first time after the fall of the dictatorial regime of Franco two new parties to compete with the two traditional conservative people’s party (NP) under rukovodstvom the current Prime Minister, Mariano Rajoy and the Spanish socialist workers party (PSOE) led by Pedro Sanchez, who for more than 30 years alternately formed the government.

We are talking about left-wing party Podemos («We can»), Pablo Iglesias and centrist «Citizens» albert Rivera, the appearance of which, experts believe, will put an end to a two-party system in Spain.

Pablo Iglesias is 37-year-old University Professor, is convinced that Europe’s problem is not Greece: «the political project «Europe» destroy Germany and the international monetary Fund»

36-year-old Alberto Rivera, lawyer and former swimming champion, he accuses the current government elite in corruption.

According to recent opinion polls, none of the political forces will not be able to obtain an absolute majority in Parliament, and parties have to form coalitions.
