Egyptian police have arrested a member of the presidential election of 1992 Abdul Munim Abul Futuh. He is suspected of cooperation with «Muslim brotherhood», which in Egypt outlawed. At the same time was arrested another four individuals from the leadership of the party «Strong Egypt.»
The basis for the arrests was the complaint filed by lawyer Samir Sabri after his speech Abul Futuh the TV channel «al Jazeera». The lawyer accused the policy of spreading «false news» and attempt to slander President Abd al-Fattah al-Sisi.
In his speech Abul Fotouh called for a boycott of the presidential elections to be held in late March. According to him, elections involving only one real candidate al-Sisi is a farce, not a democratic process.
