Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Kirill on Saturday, February 13, met in Havana with Fidel Castro. The meeting, which lasted more than an hour, was held at the house of Castro.
«During the meeting they discussed issues of international relations. Fidel Castro stressed the importance of previous meetings with the Pope», – quotes the Agency «Interfax» the head of the Patriarchal press service Alexander Volkov priest.
The Patriarch thanked Castro for Cuba’s Orthodox community for many years has its own temple. «The possibility of building a Church in Havana is including the merit of Fidel Castro,» said Volkov.
After meeting with Castro, the Patriarch attended a concert of the choir and clergy of the Moscow State academic ensemble «Russia» in Havana.
