Russian doctors have conducted an extensive survey, according to which more than a third of Russians suffer from a relatively recent and difficult to diagnose disease non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD).
According to REN TV, the study involved over a thousand physicians and more than 50 thousand outpatients. In this case, from participation excluded people who use alcohol.
Analysis of the results of the study conducted by experts of the Russian gastroenterological Association, Russian society on studying of liver diseases and the National Internet society of specialists in internal medicine, in partnership with the French company «Sanofi». It became clear that NAFLD is suffering 37,3 % of Russians.
While in European countries this figure is much lower, ranging from 10-24%.
