According to the poll, conducted by the Institute «Dialogue», commissioned by the newspaper ha’aretz, the new party, at the head of which stand the ex-chief of staff Gabi Ashkenazi, Minister of Finance Moshe Kahlon and one of the former leaders of «Likud» Gidon Saar, gain in the elections with 23 mandates, one mandate more than Likud party headed by Binyamin Netanyahu.
Block «Zionist camp» would have received 15 mandates, the party «Yesh Atid» and the United Arab list – 13 mandates, «Bayt Yehudi» – 10 mandates, parties, SHAS and «Aadat a-Torah» – 7 mandates, MERETZ and Yisrael Beiteinu – 5 mandates.
Thus, the new party can form a coalition with the party «Yesh Atid» and «the Zionist camp», consisting of 51 deputies, to which can be attached religious party, Yisrael Beiteinu or Likud.
The «Likud» it will be difficult to create a coalition because the bloc of right-wing parties (Likud, Yisrael Beiteinu, «Bayt Yehudi») has in this scenario, only 37 mandates.
It must be emphasized that the survey did not specify who of the three potential leaders will head a new centrist party.
