The port authority of Qatar announced the launch of navigation between the Qatari port of Sohar located in Oman ports Hamad and Salah. The ships will make six flights a week.
The task of the new lines is to reduce the negative effect of the embargo against Qatar and Saudi Arabia and its allies. The first ship reefer moored in Sohar on June 11.
Iran sent to Qatar five planes of food. The air bridge brought to the Emirate of 90 tons of cargo. Previously, the government of Qatar appealed to Iran and Turkey with the request to assist in the supply of the Emirate’s food and water.
The government cannot provide food for themselves. Before the crisis, about 40% of the supplies went to Saudi Arabia. Many residents of the Emirate made purchases in the neighbouring Kingdom, where prices are much lower.
