News Agency Reuters refutes the claim of the Ministry of defence of the Russian Federation according to which from the beginning of 2017 in Syria killed ten Russian soldiers.
Calculations conducted by the Agency, greatly at variance with official data. According to the Agency, from January to July in Syria killed at least 40 soldiers and officers from Russia.
In each case the death was confirmed by several sources, including representatives of the regime of Bashar al-Assad. The Agency also checked the posts on social networks.
Reuters notes that the death toll could be higher: military command demands from the relatives to remain silent about the death of their loved ones. About it journalists were told by military family members.
The immediate aftermath in Syria killed 35 Russian soldiers. This significant increase in losses is due to the expansion of Russia’s participation in the Syrian conflict.
