On Friday, March 30, Israeli President Reuven Rivlin sent a letter of condolence to the relatives of Mireille knoll, 85-year-old resident of Paris, Jewish by nationality, killed by a neighbor.
«It is very difficult to accept that the life that survived the horrors of the Holocaust, ended in such a cruel manner. All of Israel mourns with you at this difficult time,» wrote Rivlin.
The President added: «the Increasing anti-Semitic attacks in Europe and support for racist parties are of particular concern. We will not cease to demand that European leaders step up the fight to eradicate this phenomenon».
March 23, Andrew knoll was found dead in the burned home, located in the 11th arrondissement of Paris on the Rue Philippe-Auguste. On the body of the deceased was discovered not less than eleven stab wounds.
On suspicion in murder of the knoll was arrested two suspects. One of them is 29-year-old neighbor woman. Media reported that Mireille had contacted the police with complaints of a neighbor who threatened to burn her.
On March 26 the Paris Prosecutor’s office who are watching the investigation of the murder of a woman, admitted that the crime was committed on the grounds of anti-Semitism.
On March 27, two men detained on suspicion in murder of the knoll, was charged with murder motivated by anti-Semitism.
28 March took place the funeral of the murdered, which was attended by the President of France Emmanuel macron.
