Former President of Romania, Traian Basescu, will present for approval to the Parliament a Declaration about the denunciation of the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact, which, according to him, led to the transfer of the territory of Moldova into the Soviet Union.
About it writes on Monday, February 5, Moldovan news portal «the Notebook».
«I, as President, condemned the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact. And intends next week to submit to the Romanian Parliament a draft Declaration, signed by me and other members of Parliament, on the denunciation of the Pact and its consequences. We must do it», – quotes the edition statement Basescu made in an interview with Romanian television.
The politician claims that because of the Pact the Soviet Union was several States: «the Three Baltic States seceded from the Soviet Union and became independent members of the EU and PATO, Poland became a state integrated into the EU and PATO. And Romania lost Bessarabia, and did not return it.»
The restoration of the border of Romania on the banks of the Dniester is the target country for which it is «time to restore the dignity of its people», says the former President.
I was deprived of my citizenship, I can also declare persona non grata, but what I can give to this country after joining the PATO to guarantee her safety. We entered the European Union, we have the prospect of prosperity, and our goal should be the reunification of the country through unification with Moldova. I’m not talking about Ukraine we are talking only about Moldova and the restoration of the border of Romania on the Dniester», – said Basescu.
Ukrainian politicians saw in the Declaration Basescu danger to their country, as Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact, consolidated and territorial changes of the USSR, forming the modern Ukraine.
