The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hassan Rouhani said in an interview with state television that he does not cause protest trade and economic cooperation with the United States.
The President called on Western companies to invest in Iran’s economy, saying that the Islamic Republic does not intend to rely on energy exports. According to Rouhani, he has nothing against the penetration of the Iranian market American companies.
«If the Americans are willing to invest in our economy, to create a joint venture, we have no problem with that. The decline in oil prices gives us new opportunities, and even when they go up, we won’t become a raw materials appendage», he said.
After the entry into force of the decision on the lifting of sanctions Iran and the Western companies signed contracts for hundreds of billions of dollars. According to experts, this makes the agreement to be irreversible, since a return of the sanctions will lead to loss of income and increased unemployment in Western countries.
Note that the words of Rouhani are inconsistent with the words of the Supreme leader of Iran Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. He has repeatedly stated that the signing of the agreement about the fate of Iran’s nuclear program will not lead to the change of attitude towards the USA, which continue to be regarded as «big Satan».
