Moreover, the number of anti-Russian measures, their nature, scope restricted industries indicate that Ukraine is systematically and deliberately violating its international obligations by ignoring international trade rules, other rules of international law. While some of these measures do not just protect the Ukrainian economy, but on the contrary creates additional problems,» the Minister said.
«The request covers a total of hundreds of elements of Ukrainian normative acts and applies to violations of a number of the underlying WTO agreements including the agreement establishing the WTO General agreement on trade in goods, General agreement on trade in services, the agreement on import licensing, agreement on technical barriers to trade, agreement on sanitary and phytosanitary measures,» – said Oreshkin.
In accordance with the procedures of the WTO, requesting consultations is the first step in filing a claim. Within two months should be consulted with the government of Ukraine with the aim of finding ways to resolve the situation. If this does not bring results, Russia will have the right to refer the case to the arbitration group.
