Deputy Minister of economic development of Russia Alexey Gruzdev reported that Russia maintains with several countries negotiations about creation of free economic zones. This statement was made in China, on the forum «Summer Davos».
According to the official, the negotiations with India and Egypt will begin by the end of 2017. By that time, Russia intends to sign an agreement with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
«From the point of view of the FTA in the framework of the Eurasian economic Union are already underway, consultations or decisions have been made to start negotiations with a number of countries. If we talk about current, it is Israel,» added the Deputy Minister.
Gruzdev declined to make a prediction about the timing, noting that before signing the contract must be agreed about 10,000 tariff lines. There are many other factors that can delay the process of negotiations.
However, he stressed that negotiations with Israel have already begun and are conducted in intensive mode.
