The crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Muhammad bin Salman has announced a new initiative, which is part of the plan of diversification of the economy, «Saudi Arabia-2030». It provides for the development of the red sea coast as a tourist zone.
Special attention will be given dozens of islets, located near the protected zone of the sleeping volcanoes in Harrat al-Rahat. It is also expected to attract tourists to the coral reefs and historical sites in the Arabian Peninsula.
Tourism is one of the cornerstones of the plan «Saudi Arabia-2030». While in Riyadh claim that the target audience is new projects of residents of other States in the region. It is easy to understand that we are talking about the Sunnis.
«The new project aims to the development of international tourism on the Red sea. It will be a place of rest, recreation and entertainment, giving an example of a healthy and active society,» — said in a statement released to local media.
The amount of investment in the project is not disclosed. It is expected that its implementation will start in the second half of 2019 and will be completed in 2022.
