Dr. James Dinicolantonio refuted the existing theory that salt is harmful, calling it a «dangerous myth,» reports the Daily Mail.
In the course of his work Dr. Dinicolantonio, leading researcher of the Institute of cardiology of St. Luke’s in Missouri, reviewed more than 500 medical research on salt and found no compelling evidence of the harm allegedly caused to her health.
Moreover, according to Dr. Dinicolantonio, inadequate salt intake can cause insulin resistance, which increases the risk of diabetes and increase the mass weight and reduced libido. In addition, a diet low in salt reduces a woman’s chances of pregnancy and negatively affect the weight of newborn babies.
The doctor States that salt is an important substance, without which human life loses flavor – literally and figuratively.
«When you start to restrict your salt intake, your body does everything to hold the salt,» said the doctor. As a result, a diet low in salt leads to weight gain, slower metabolism, poor thyroid function and constant fatigue.
