Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon has decided to appoint the current Director-General of the Ministry of energy of Shaul Meridor to the post of head of the Department of budgets in the Ministry of Finance.
Shaul Meridor has in the past held a number of positions in this Department, working with the Ministry of Finance in the period from 2002 to 2013, he left the Department of budgets in the Ministry of Finance, as the responsible for budgets in the area of infrastructure — energy, water, transport and agriculture.
Shaul Meridor graduated from Hebrew University, received degrees in philosophy, Economics and political science. Lives in Jerusalem, married and has four children.
In the order on the appointment of Shaul Meridor to the position of head of the Department budgets of the Ministry of Finance, Moshe Kahlon thanked the chief economist of the Ministry of Finance Yoel Naveh, who three last months fulfilled duties of the head of Department budgets. He also wished to Shaul Meridor success in his new post.
The appointment will be submitted shortly to the government for approval.
