Austrian «flying skier» Stefan Kraft set a world record 253.5 meters, according to the Salzburger Nachrichten.
The record jump was made at the stage of the world Cup in Vikersund, Norway.
Interestingly, the stage is set for the second world record. A few days earlier, the Norwegian Robert Johansson jumped to 252 meters.
The previous world record (prior to world Cup in Vikersund) amounted to 251.5 meters. In 2015 it was set by Norwegian Anders Fannemel.
Stage at home was won by the Norwegians, who scored 1572.6 points. The poles in the second place, the Austrians on the third.
Stefan Kraft holds a good season. He won two gold medals at the world Championships and is a leader in personal offset of the world Cup.
