South African President Jacob Zuma on Wednesday, February 14, declared the resignation, informs television channel CNN.
The ruling party South Africa «African national Congress», previously nominated to address the requirement of Zuma, welcomed his decision.
In case of refusal, the 75-year-old was expecting a vote of confidence in Parliament.
Jacob Zuma was President of South Africa since 2009. In December of last year, it was dismissed as head of the ruling party. Since then, Zuma, who is accused of corruption, was forced to resign.
