A US citizen who came to Israel in the framework of the project «Taglit», committed suicide the day before His body was found in a hotel room. The group with which he came, was going that day to visit the fortress of Masada.

The representative of Taglit-birthright Israel has refused to tell reporters the details of a suicide out of compassion for the family of the deceased, which reported the incident to the U.S. Embassy in tel Aviv.
«Taglit» – educational project, which is a free ten-day tour to Israel for people of Jewish origin aged 18 to 26 years old. Project participants get acquainted with the places associated with the history of the Jewish people and Israel, meet with their peers – soldiers, students, and relatives and friends who have committed aliyah.
Participants are accompanied by instructors and guides.
The aim of the project is to introduce young Jews living in the Diaspora, Jewish history and Jewish heritage, to maintain and develop their Jewish identity, familiarize with the life of modern Israel.
Project 10-day free visit to Israel is designed both for natural curiosity and desire to experience life in a Jewish country. The journey is planned in such a way to learn and see the country from different sides: from North to South, from Dan to Eilat, from the Golan heights to the Dead sea, from the wailing Wall to the tel Aviv nightlife pubs.
The project is sponsored by world Jewish communities and the government of Israel.
