This summer in Israel marked an unprecedented surge in the birth rate. Maternity wards in hospitals in the country are overcrowded. In some hospitals mothers are placed in the corridors and canteens, and births are attended in admissions, writes in the Sunday, July 31, the website Ynet.
At the hospital «Beilinson» in Petah Tikva the birth rate increased by 10% compared with last summer. In the hospital «Hillel Yaffe» the completion of maternity wards has increased by 20%. About increasing the number of mothers also reported the hospital «And Emek» in Afula, «Soroka» in beer-Sheva, Rambam in Haifa, Meir in Kfar Saba, «Laniado» in Netanya, «Barzilai in Ashkelon» and Medical center of the Galilee in Naaria.
According to the head of the maternity ward at the hospital «Hillel Jaffa», Dr. Chaim David, in the summer always increases the number of births, however, this year there is a particularly high growth. «Perhaps people are planning a baby in the summer because of vacations or for reasons that in the summer less disease,» he says.
