The Syrian government has accused Israel of stealing artifacts from the synagogue «Eliyahu a-Navi», also known as «Jobar», which is located in the eponymous village outskirts of Damascus.
Secret operation, as stated in the official complaint submitted to the UN security Council by the permanent representative of SAR Bashar al-Jaafari, was held in cooperation with the Turkish secret services, writes in the Sunday, March 25, the website of the Israeli newspaper The Jerusalem Post.
«My government wants to give completely reliable information that the terrorist groups in Jobar district near Damascus, collaborated with Turkish and Israeli intelligence services to get the artifacts and manuscripts from the ancient synagogue», – quotes the edition of the text of this document.
«The stolen items have been transferred smuggled through local and foreign intermediaries to Istanbul. The experts confirmed the antique value of the stolen, after which the artifacts had been illegally smuggled into new York» – continues the Syrian Ambassador to the UN.
The permanent representative of Israel to the UN Danny Danon said in an exclusive interview with this publication that data charges – not that other, as attempt to divert world attention from grajdanskoi war in Syria, the victims of which seven years were at least half a million people.

Recall that in may 2014, the synagogue «Eliyahu a-Navi», built 2,000 years ago, was almost srovnani with the land – during the fighting between the Syrian army and rebel groups. According to The Daily Beast, it was then stolen by the above mentioned artefacts and medieval manuscripts.
