The Syrian army began to deploy air defense assets in the provinces of Idlib and Aleppo in Northwest Syria. Members of the armed forces declare that thus is covered by the Northern airspace.
According to them, the relocation of the air defense system is a warning to all potential aggressors. However, there is no doubt that these actions are directed primarily against Turkey.
On 20 January the Turkish army launched an operation «Olive branch», the aim of which is to discard the Kurdish militias with the border Syrian territory. Damascus has described Ankara’s actions as aggression.
According to the Agency SANA, the victims of Turkish soldiers became a resident of Afrin 142, 345 civilians were hospitalized. Syria accuses Turkey of systematic killings of civilians.
The regime of Bashar al-Assad also denied reports that government forces used chemical weapons in Idlib province. Earlier it was reported that the victims of the barrel bombs were five people.
