The heads of state and government of the 28 EU countries took a political decision to extend economic sanctions against Russia for six months. In the TASS report States that this information was confirmed by the President of the European Council Donald Tusk.
The source on the sidelines of the summit told the correspondent of the Russian news Agency that after the political decision is made, Donald Tusk, will start the official procedure. The EU Council at the level of ambassadors endorsed this decision, which will then be published in the EU official journal, after which it will enter into force.
According to this source, the reason for the extension of sanctions is a «lack of implementation of the Minsk agreements».
