In Caracas and several other cities in Venezuela on Wednesday, 19 April, there were mass protests against President Nicolas Maduro, which was attended by tens of thousands of people.
As reported by the news service of the BBC, the protesters are demanding early elections and the release from prison of opposition leaders.
Demonstrations degenerated into riots in which two people were killed, more than 40 people were injured. Hundreds of people were detained by police.
On the same day, in Caracas, held a March of supporters of Maduro, who accused opposition activists trying to organize a coup.
Continues in Venezuela a severe economic crisis. Opponents of Maduro believe that this is the fault of his policies.
