The passenger plane of airline Virgin Atlantic, EN route flight VS025 on the route London – new York, immediately after takeoff returned to Heathrow as a co-pilot during takeoff blinded by a laser beam, reports the BBC.
The incident occurred on Sunday evening. Onboard the airplane there were 252 passengers and 15 crew members. During takeoff, approximately 10 kilometres West of the airport, in the eye of the second pilot got released from the earth a laser beam, after which the crew and ground controllers decided to return the plane to Heathrow.
Virgin Atlantic Airways and the Metropolitan police are trying to determine the source blinded the pilot laser beam.
