Scheduled for Sunday the voting of the government program of development of the Arab sector has been postponed until Wednesday because of the requirement of Ministers to include the city with a mixed population, such as Ramla, Lod, acre, Jaffa.
The program, under which the government intends to allocate 15 billion shekels in five years, envisages significant investments in the areas of education and employment, public safety, housing and infrastructure.
In particular, at least 40% addition to the budget of public transport will be directed on financing of new bus routes in the Arab sector up to equalize the situation in this sphere with the Jewish sector.
On the employment of members of national minorities will go at least 50% of all budgets allocated to the employment of population groups with low employment rates.
Tens of millions of shekels will be spent to support small and medium businesses in the Arab sector.
In the sphere of housing construction of public buildings in the Arab sector it is planned to allocate over five years, 750 million shekels.
Special development program for the Arab sector prepared by the ministries of internal security, education, health, the development of the Negev and the Galilee, and the Commission on higher education.
