The Prime Minister of Iraq Haidar al-Abadi said that if scheduled for 25 September, a referendum on Kurdistan’s independence will cause unrest, the government will be ready to use force to normalize the situation.
«If the Iraqi citizens threatened by illegal violence, we will start military intervention,» — said the head of government, adding that it remains ready to begin negotiations with the leadership of the Kurdish Autonomous region.
«If you threaten our Constitution, threaten the territorial integrity of Iraq and regional government division, it can be perceived as an invitation to revise the boundaries. A very dangerous decision,» said al-Abadi.
Recall that attempts by the international community to convince the Kurdish leadership to abandon the referendum have so far failed. The only state that supported the independence of Kurdistan, became Israel.
Meanwhile, in Kirkuk, where it is planned to hold a referendum, was put in action the explosive device in the car bomb. Three people were killed and about ten were injured. The aim of the terrorists was a shop that sells alcohol.
