The decision of a number of media to recall their reporters from the state Duma in connection with the case of the Deputy Leonid Slutsky means that they will be denied accreditation, said Thursday, March 22, the speaker of the Russian Parliament, Vyacheslav Volodin.
He, however, stressed that the revision of these publications have a legal right to boycott the Duma, said the news portal Мeduza .
Recall that to date, some Russian media announced the recall their correspondents from the state Duma. The boycott of Parliament, among others announced the RBC media holding, TV channel «Rain», radio «Echo of Moscow», the newspaper «Kommersant», TV channel RTVI and a number of other publications.
The reason was the decision of the parliamentary Commission on ethics is considering the case of the MP Leonid Slutsky, who was accused of sexual harassment of several journalists.
On 21 March it became known that the state Duma Commission on ethics considered unjustified and premeditated allegations of sexual harassment in the address of the Deputy of the lower house of Parliament Leonid Slutsky (LDPR).
Recall that harassment on the part of the Slutsky said the Deputy chief editor of the TV channel RTVI Ekaterina Kotrikadze, producer of TV channel «Rain» Darya Zhuk and the correspondent of Russian service of BBC Farida Rustamova, who appealed to the Duma Commission on ethics.
«The Commission finds no violations Leonid Slutsky behavioral norms,» – said at the end of the discussion of the statements of the head of the Committee Otari Arshba, the words quoted by the news Agency «Interfax».
«Members of the Commission draw attention to the fact that the Complainant voiced a complaint to a colleague Slutsky almost simultaneously, in the period of presidential elections and after considerable time (from one year to three years) after the alleged «incident», – stated in the final statement of the Commission.
Members of Parliament came to the conclusion that the «amount» studied the facts «evidence of selective, focused and planned nature of the applicants». However, as underlined by the Agency, the decision of the Commission of the lower house of Parliament on ethics was accepted in the absence of all the participants of this situation.
Leonid Slutsky, member of the LDPR and state Duma Deputy since 1999, heads the State Duma Committee on international Affairs. He also holds a doctorate of economic Sciences and head of the Department of international relations of faculty of political science of MSU named after M. V. Lomonosov.
Commenting on this sex scandal, Slutsky has compared himself with Harvey Weinstein and called the allegations «paid» and «lowbrow provocation. Abandoning checks on the lie detector, he urged not to believe anonymous stories, and emphasized the national identity of their onlineclinic and threatened the TV channel «Rain» with a lawsuit.
