The children of mixed marriages who were born in Saudi Arabia, will have limited rights

The Ministry of labour of Saudi Arabia announced that children born from mother succumbed to king Salman and his father is a foreign citizen, get the rights that previously had only possessed citizenship of the Kingdom.

Among the new «privilege» — access to education and healthcare and the right to work in the private sector. In the message it is emphasized that these rights are not lost in the case of the death of his mother.

From the statement it is unclear whether children of mixed marriages fully equal subjects of the king. We can assume that no, since they can only work in the private sector. At the same time, the text says that they will become citizens of the Kingdom.

The explanation of the Ministry was issued after the Deputy Minister of labour Ahmad al-Humaidan said that after his mother’s death, her children by foreigners will be deprived of civil rights.

Note that in the marriage with foreigners are 700.000 inhabitants of the Kingdom. Children from these unions decided to naturalize in the framework of the program «Niyat» to resolve the status of living in Saudi Arabia foreign workers.
