Thursday, July 13, a magistrate’s court in Rishon LeZion extended by five days the term of detention of the businessman Mickey Ganora and former Deputy head of the Council for national security Auriela Bar Yosef.
They are suspected of involvement in the corruption scandal around the purchase of submarines in Germany.
Ganor is suspected of fraud and money laundering, and Bar Yosef of bribery and making a profit under false pretenses.
Bar-Yosef, Ganor was detained July 10, during joint operation of employees of the Israel police, the tax office and the office for combating money laundering.
According to the suspicions of the police, part of the transaction documents about the purchase of submarines in Germany was destroyed. The police believe that the documents were issued from the office of the businessman Mickey Ganora, and then destroyed by attorney Ronen Semirom.
