Russian fighter su-27 was raised over the Baltic sea to intercept American strategic bombers B-52, report Tuesday, June 6, Russian media, citing the defense Ministry.
According to the Agency, at about 10:00 Moscow time was discovered the plane, which was flying over neutral waters along the Russian border. The intercept rose su-27 from the composition of the active-duty air defense forces of the Baltic fleet, writes RIA Novosti news Agency.
The fighter was accompanied by American aircraft until he retired from the Russian border and then returned to the airfield.
Earlier Tuesday, the headquarters of the Estonian defence Forces announced that the strategic bombers of the U.S. air force B-1 and B-52 will take part in the exercises PATO Saber Strike, held on the territory of the Baltic States from 5 to 16 June. The maneuvers involved the military personnel stationed in the Republic of the international battalion PATO.
