The members of the delegation of the Conference of presidents of major American Jewish organizations, making tour of the Middle East, arrived in Cairo. Here they held talks with Egyptian President Abd al-Fattah al-Sisi. The meeting lasted about two hours.

February 9, the delegation, headed by Malcolm Henlein, met in Ankara with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Among the 20 leaders of the American Jewish community were representatives of the anti-defamation League and the Pro-Israel lobby AIPAC.
The Turkish newspaper Hurriyet wrote that the meeting was intended to demonstrate the readiness of Turkey to normalize relations with Israel. In accordance with the publication, the meeting was attended by the head of the Jewish community of Turkey Isaac Ibrahimzadeh.
