The MK Akram Hasson («Kulan») submitted to the Knesset a bill declaring December 6 as the official day of memory of victims of Holodomor, which the Deputy declares an act of genocide.
«The Minister of education has the right to assign events to mark this day, and the Prime Minister to announce the holding of an official ceremony».
In the notes to the law States that the famine was planned «by the Soviet authorities to attack Ukrainian nation and Ukrainian national identity.»
In September 2016, a group of Ukrainian public figures gave a group of Knesset members who were in Ukraine, the request to recognize the Holodomor an act of genocide.
Surrounded by MP Akram Hasson of the editorial NEWSru.co.il explained that the idea for the bill came to him after a visit to Ukraine in the framework of the delegation will come to Kyiv the members of the Knesset Commission of the interior in December 2017.

The radio station Galei Tzahal reported with reference to anonymous sources in the Russian foreign Ministry that Moscow is outraged by this initiative of the Deputy and threatens a sharp deterioration of relations with Israel if the bill is approved by the Knesset.
