Meshchansky court of Moscow found the former Director of the Library of Ukrainian literature Natalia Sharin guilty on criminal case about extremism and embezzlement, reports «Rain».
Sharin blamed for spreading a number of books, which, according to the investigation, incite hatred of Russia.
State charge has requested for Sharina in the case of extremism and embezzlement five years probation. The court sentenced Sharin to four years of probation. The time Sharina had spent under house arrest, will be deducted from the suspended sentence.
Recall that in October 2015, in the Library of Ukrainian literature in Moscow was searched. During the search, as stated on the website of the Investigative Committee, was «seized printed materials containing calls for anti-Russian and anti-Russian propaganda». It was about the book of the Ukrainian writer Dmytro Korchynskyi, which appears in the list of extremist materials on the website of the Russian Ministry of justice.
After a search of 58-year-old Natalia Sharin questioned in the Investigation Committee. 2015 Sharina is under house arrest.
Against Sharina was prosecuted under article 282 of the Criminal code — incitement of national hatred or enmity and humiliation of human dignity. In the spring of 2016 the Prosecutor’s office brought Sharina a new charge, this time in the embezzlement.
