In the first month of the new Chairman Powell’s leadership, the Federal reserve decided to raise the discount rate by 0.25% to 1.5%-1,75%.
In the message the Federal Reserve stated the intention twice to raise the discount rate for 2018, three times – in 2019 and two in 2020.
The report shows the positive economic indicators recently, including the increase of labour market indicators.
