The Ministry of sport and youth of Egypt has disposed to limit the possibility of hiring foreign coaches for sports clubs in the country due to the shortage of foreign currency.
Press Secretary of the Ministry of Muhammad Kassab said, «al-Ahram» that the Agency be allowed to pay to foreign experts only in Egyptian pounds and is also considering to ban the employment of foreigners.
According to Kassab, Egypt has enough highly qualified specialists in all sports. Foreigners, he said, cost the country dearly, and Egypt is now experiencing economic crisis.
Kassab believes that the restrictions will save about 900 thousand dollars a year.
The head of the Olympic Committee of Egypt Mamdouh Al-Sistani welcomed the Ministry’s decision and said that this measure was more appropriate to spend resources.
