The Embassy took this decision after Assange publicly questioned the guilt of Russia in the attempt in the UK to a former agent of the GRU, Sergei Skripal.
Julian Assange is in the Embassy of Ecuador in London since 2012. He was granted political asylum after beginning of the investigation, a rape case in Sweden in 2010.
In the spring of 2017 Sweden withdrew from the Assange allegations and quashed the warrant for his arrest. However, the WikiLeaks founder is refusing to leave the premises, as fears that the UK authorities can extradite him to the US.
