The Knesset Committee for legislation approved second and third readings a draft law on fair rent.
The Commission considered six different private and government bills, reducing them into a single project.
The bill, consideration of which has lasted for more than two years, is aimed at regulating the relations between landlord and tenant by clearly defining the rights and obligations of each party.
Among other things, the bill provides that the payment of the realtor falls on the person who hired him. The landlord has the right to demand an advance payment up to a third of the cost of rent for the entire period, but no more than the cost of rent for three months.
The bill also defines the apartment is not habitable and introduces minimum requirements that must be met for rental housing.
