On Tuesday, 7 November, the Commission on early conditional release decided to reduce the punishment for the former mayor of Ramat Gan Zvi Bar and release him from prison.
26 February 2015, the Bar was found guilty of accepting bribes, fraud, betrayal of public trust, money laundering and obstructing the course of the investigation.
It was reported that the former mayor of Ramat Gan convicted of taking bribes in the amount of 224 thousand dollars from building contractors who carried out the project «Beit LIR Or» and «and Migdal-Tmarim». According to prosecutors, a Bar made illegal actions from 2003 to 2008, promoting construction projects in exchange for bribes.
June 4, 2015 the district court in tel Aviv sentenced the former mayor of Ramat Gan for five and a half years in prison. Bar was also sentenced to two years probation and a fine amounting to half a million shekels.
February 1 this year, the Bar began serving a prison sentence.
