Israeli athletes won two gold medals at the held in Abu Dhabi youth world championship JIU-jitsu. Meshi Rosenfeld became the champion among girls in weight to 55 kilograms, Nimrod raider – champion among juniors in the weight category up to 77 kilograms.
The Israeli athletes competed under the flag of the international Association of JIU-jitsu. Awarded was not accompanied by the performance of the Israeli national anthem and raising the flag of Israel. There were no national symbols on kimono athletes.
Meshi told the radio station «Kahn Beth»
that sang the national anthem on the podium. She admitted she is disappointed, but believes it is necessary the participation of Israeli athletes in competitions held in Arab countries. In her opinion, it contributes to recognition of Israel.

The raider on the way to gold defeated opponents from Lebanon, the United Arab Emirates and Poland, and in the semifinals defeated compatriot — Amir Alreem. Amir eventually won the bronze medal. Two more Israelis have been silver.
