The head EMERCOM of Russia Vladimir Puchkov has ruled out the possibility that someone out of 26 miners trapped underground as a result of explosions on mine «Northern» in Vorkuta, could survive. This is also the opinion of the technical Council of the company «Vorkutaugol».
«We have to acknowledge that all options are on the emergency section of the mine, do not allow someone to survive» — quoted Puchkova «Interfax».
Beam explains that at the point where there was at the time of the explosions 26 miners, very high temperature and no oxygen. In addition, this same area was the epicenter of a third explosion.
Director of OJSC «Vorkutaugol», which owns the mine, said it considered two options for the fault localization is isolation of an emergency site and its flooding, since any work on the mine is impossible. The leadership of the Ministry of emergency situations holds the same opinion.
The first explosion at the mine was on the 25th of February. At the time of the caving underground there were 110 people. 80 of them brought to the surface, were found the bodies of four miners. 26 people were reported missing.
On the night of 28 February, on mine there was a new explosion, which killed six of the rescuers.
After the explosion in the mine were suspended all rescue work.
