On Wednesday the foreign Minister of Estonia Sven Mixer gave a lengthy interview to the Israeli newspaper the Jerusalem Post , in which he described Israel as «friend and partner» and attempts to transform the Jewish state into an international pariah is meaningless.
At the same time, he recalled that his government supported the policy of the EU and the international community and does not approve construction in the settlements, which «are contrary to international law, are an obstacle to peace and will not be recognized as a legitimate way of promoting national interests of Israel.»
The Minister of foreign Affairs of Estonia noted that the President of the United States Donald trump during a visit to Israel, did not mention the principle of «two States for two peoples.» He, however, urged not to attach too much importance to the words of trump, who «are not so careful in the choice of expressions, as previous American leaders, but sincere in the desire to become a constructive player and to find a solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.»
The mixer also commented on the growing influence of the extreme right in Europe, stating that concerned about the polarization of politics: «Party trying to get away from the city center, making it difficult to harmonize something, and makes the swings of the political pendulum much more abrupt than we would like.»
Note that the terrorism that has spread throughout Europe, were not affected by this small Baltic country, with just 1.3 million people, directly, making its politicians more complacent. Mixer, who previously held the post of defense Minister, said that the threat of terrorist attacks in his country is relatively low, but the government does not intend nijiati the level of combat readiness because of this trouble no one is immune.
