Thursday, March 8, the Council of the European Union for the first time appointed to the position of Executive Director of Europol woman. The head of the Department became the General Commissioner of the Federal police of Belgium, Catherine de Boll.
The head of Europol is appointed for a term of four years. Currently this position is held by Rob wainright.
De Boll will begin his duties may 1, 2018.
Catherine de Boll 48 years. A lawyer by training, she was first officer of the gendarmerie, and after he served in the criminal police. In 2012, de Boll became the first female chief of Federal police of Belgium.
