The Minister of foreign Affairs of Poland Witold Waszczykowski believes that in the future Ukraine will join the North Atlantic Alliance, as more members of the NATO support such a move.
The foreign Minister of Poland told about it after negotiations with the foreign Ministers of the Visegrad countries (Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, Czech Republic), held during the NATO summit in Warsaw.
Witold Waszczykowski said that the Alliance maintains an open door policy for countries in Eastern and southern Europe, and many countries are currently in the status of candidates. He said that Georgia is a candidate member of NATO, and currently were at an advanced stage.
According to him, Ukraine continues internal discussion about membership in the Alliance, and membership in NATO still enjoys more support.
The summit in Warsaw approved the decision to deploy four battalions to the border with Russia the members of the Alliance – Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. To send troops agreed USA, UK, Canada and Germany.
